Instructions:

First of all you need to root your device which you might have already done, if not then head over to this article Root your Xperia Z, ZL and tablet Z

For Unlocked Bootloader

1. Unlock your bootloader at here.
2. Copy ROM to your SD card.
3. Flash kernel with recovery and then go to CWM Recovery.
4. Do a factory reset and then install the ROM.
5. Enjoy your rooted Xperia Z with a Custom ROM.

For Locked Bootloader

1. Copy your ROM to SD card.
2. Install CWM for Locked bootloader from here.
3. Go to CWM recovery.
4. Now go to “mount and Storage”.
5. Wipe Data partition now.
6. Install ROM

New APIs:

This time Google announced three new API’s these tools help developers to make great applications and even existing ones better. Basically API helps to determine location of the operator of device in various ways whether by using GPS, network or Wi-Fi so to make this even better they added new APIs named as: Fuse Location Provider, Geofencing and Activity Recognition feature. Fuse Location Provider helps to acquire location more swiftly and uses 1% less battery per hour. Second one is GeoFencing it allows developers define a virtual fencing around a particular area and find location of user easily. Third one is Activity Recognition Feature it helps to track physical activities, it senses whether one is walking, cycling, driving and will do it without even using GPS which saves a lot of battery juice.

New Android Studio for developers:

This year’s I/O is largely focused for developers taking this into care Google launched new Android Studio, an integrated development environment based on IntelliJ platform. It has great interface in which a developer can see how his/her application will look like after development and on even different screen sizes. Android comes with live code updates and even font changer tool too. 

Google Play Games Service:

We all heard lot of rumors about Google releasing Play Games which is no more a rumor but it is officially live. No matter how much you share the pictures of African kids on Facebook, this was the probably the only time in history when a “like” could have saved a life.

I too have some “share happy” friends who share almost everything within a timespan of 5-10 minutes. Even though the shared stuff is not one of the above mentioned idiotic stuff, it is frustrating to see the whole Facebook news feed to be filled by the updates from the same guy. While the best way to get rid of such annoying updates on Facebook is to hide the updates from them.

But wait a sec! Are they not your close friends? You do want to get some (important) updates from them to know what they are doing or if there is something really important news from their side. Hiding them would not serve the purpose as it goes against the principal of Facebook and that is to socially connect with friends.

So if you want to get rid of the annoying and unnecessary updates from your friend but do want to receive the important announcements from them, here is a little trick that could help you.

How to get only important updates from friends on Facebook:

Click on the option from the right side of the post and choose Hide.

Once you hide the story, it gives you an option of Change what updates you get from XYZ. Click on this option.

Here you can choose what kind of option you want to receive from your friend. Bets would be to choose Only important.

You can also opt for Most updates. This will also reduce the activity of your friend in your news feed. I hope it helps you in keeping your friend with you and your Facebook news feed cleaner.

Earlier Google Drive had only 5Gb of free storage while Gmail had 10 Gb of free storage. While an average usage of Gmail falls around 2 Gb, rest of 8Gb is almost useless. But with the new unification, this could be very well used in Google Drive. This new scheme applies to your purchased additional storage as well. It means if you had bought 25GB of storage in Gmail, you can use it in Google Drive as well.

What about Google Plus picture storage?

Now, this brings us to this very important question. Does Google Plus have unlimited storage? If 15Gb is to share between Gmail, Google Drive and Google Plus pictures, it clearly is an indicator that Google Plus does not have unlimited storage. When Google Plus was first launched, many people used it to extend the free storage of their Picasa account to unlimited. But as observed by this guy, it was never unlimited and it gave storage full warning at 7.6 Gb data.

If you are not an addict to Google Plus, this new unification of storage should not be affecting you at all. In fact now you can use the extra unused storage from Gmail to Google Drive. You can see the usage in your Google account in nice graphical manner. The changes will start rolling in next few weeks therefore you have to wait for sometime, depending on you geographic location.

There are the sketches of the device and they closely resemble the earlier leaked X Phone which was leaked by @EvLeaks earlier this month. Phone is found to be of AT&T carrier and had LTE bands of the carrier.

If we closely look at both the devices in above pictures we will notice similarity in both Motorola Logo one and sketchy one such as position of camera, flash. Requirements to root Xperia Z:

So to root the device there are some requirements such as:

• You need to install ADB drivers ( get it from here )
• Android Rooting toolkit get it from here
• Download the above files in your system.
• Close all ADB needing applications like PC Suite, PC Companion, Flashtool, etc because they all will interfere with the rooting process and might damage your device.
• Extract the toolkit files and save them in one folder and do remember the position where you have saved it like on desktop or some other place.

Steps to root Xperia Z:

Now if you have read the above warning and still ready to root your device then here are the steps to root it:

1. Enable USB debugging mode. By going to Settings  then Developer options then Enable and Settings then Developer options and at last USB Debugging.
2. Tick to check box to enable install from unknown sources. Go to Settings then Security then Unknown source
3. Now connect your device and run “runme.bat”  from the extracted folder of toolkit package.
4. Press Enter to start the rooting process and as soon as your devices connects with the package process will begin.
5. When a dialog screen flashes on your computer saying “press the button to restore the data in your phone” then select Restore data option from your device then on the completion of process you will again see a dialog box conveying message restoring completes.
6. Now dial *#*#7378423#*#* from your device and select “service test” from options given then select “display” option now toolkit will start the rooting process.
7. Now wait for some time when the process completes phone will automatically reboot.
8. NOW YOUR DEVICE IS ROOTED
